: The study was approved by the Institutional Review Board of the University of Gondar in October 2021 (Ref. VP/RTT/05/147/2021). Permission letters were obtained from relevant education authorities at different levels. Permission has also been sought from the respective schools after they were informed about the purpose and risk of the study to the participants and how the schools and the participants were selected for the trial. Informed written consent was obtained from those female adolescents aged 18 and above years themselves. Ascent from the participants and then written consent from their caretakers were obtained when the participants were less than 18 years of age. The ascents and consents were obtained after providing them with the information related to the purpose of the study, and the risks and benefits of participating in the study. They have also been told that their participation was completely based on voluntary that they can refuse or terminate their participation at any time they want. Codes were used instead of names, and computer password was used to limit data accessibility. Female adolescents from the control school received nutrition education lessons following the confirmation of the effectiveness of the intervention. A data monitoring committee was not needed for this study, given that the overall risk for harm is low. The trial participants in the control group received a one-day nutrition education training covering all the topics that have been delivered to the intervention group following the completion of this report. The result of the trial will be disseminated to relevant local, national and international offices and agencies. It will also be made accessible to the scientific communities using various ways, including electronic databases.
