: The present study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the University of Tokyo (No. 3001) and upheld by the Palawan Provincial Health Office. All participants clearly understood the principles of confidentiality and voluntary participation. Nobody related to this malaria control strategy project was involved while the microscopists were answering the questions posed to them.
