: ASSERT trial is registered in the ClinicalTrials.gov database (NCT 04631185). Dr. Kaur is an American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) employee and her effort for the ASSERT trial was covered by a Plastic Surgery Foundation (PSF) grant. Dr. Gastman has received grants from the National Cancer Institute (NCI), Department of Defense (DOD), Melanoma Research Alliance (MRA), Merck, Neoimmuntech (NIT), Alkermes, and Instill Bio and has received consulting fees from Castle Bioscience and Olympus—all unrelated to this manuscript. Dr. Phillips holds a preliminary patent on the tissue expander/implant template device and has received the Stryker Research Grant. Dr. Schwarz is a consultant for RTI Surgical. Dr. Hanson has consulted for Sientra in the past and has received funding from the NIH and the NCI. Ms. Cooney has current funding from the DOD and past funding from National Science Foundation (NSF) and holds stock for the following companies: Abbott Labs, AbbVie, MediWound, Vericel, and Pfizer.
