: The sampling of the Himalayan field rat (<i>R. nitidus</i>) was officially permitted by the local authority of wildlife service in Dali Prefecture of Yunnan Province, China. The use of animals (Himalayan field rat, <i>R. nitidus</i>) for research was also officially approved at the Institute of Pathogens and Vectors, Dali University.
