ETHICS APPROVAL AND CONSENT TO PARTICIPATE

: The animal-related experiments were conducted in accordance with Directive 2010/63/EU of the European Parliament and the Council on the protection of animals used for scientific surveys. The sample collection and survey objective protocols were approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, All-Russia Research Institute of Sheep and Goat Breeding, Stavropol, Russian Federation (decision no. 2023–0045, April 14, 2023). The Ethics Committee of the Russian Research Institute of Farm Animal Genetics and Breeding, Branch, Ernst Federal Research Center also approved all the experiments for animal husbandry (protocol no. 2020–4 of March 3, 2020).
