: All studies reported in this paper met the requirements and gained the approval of the appropriate ethics committee. In the case of the picture-naming study and the online studies of pictures’ image agreement and familiarity, the approval was granted by Jagiellonian University Institute of Psychology Research Ethics Committee. In the case of the online studies on pictures’ goodness of depiction as well as words’ age of acquisition and imageability, approval was granted by the Research Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Warsaw concerning experimental studies with human subjects. All studies were performed in accordance with the ethical standards laid down in the 1964 Declaration of Helsinki and its later amendments or comparable ethical standards.
