: Studies 1, 2, and 4 were not submitted to an ethics committee, because they are considered ethically exempt according to the recommendations by the German Research Foundation, as the samples did not contain any children or older adults, and participants were not exposed to physical or emotional risks. Study 5 was exempt from formal ethical evaluation since the regulations of the local ethics board at the Faculty of Behavioral and Cultural Science of Heidelberg University dictate that the advisors are responsible for ensuring the ethical integrity of MSc projects. The advisors in this case were Dr. Steindorf and Dr. Rummel. Studies 3 and 6 were approved by the ethics committee of the Faculty of Behavioral and Cultural Science of Heidelberg University (AZ Löf 2019 /1–3 and AZ_Rum/Ste_2022_1/2), and study 7 was approved by the UNC Greensboro Institutional Review Board (IRB-FY22-151). All procedures were conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki.
