The authors obtained informed consent given the potential risks associated with consuming freshly prepared meals, improvised RUTF, and powdered cow milk. The participants parents or legal guardians were given a full explanation. The possible adverse effects and benefits were explained thoroughly, and participants may withdraw from the study at any time if complications arise, such as food or milk allergies, food intolerance, noncompliance with the prescribed milk and food intake, or infection requiring hospitalisation.
