Ethics approval and consent to participate
: Prior to the start of study planning, the local ethics committee was asked by our department about the necessity of an application for retrospective data collection. A submission of the project was not requested. According to applicable law, federal (Krankenanstalten- und Kuranstaltengesetz der Republik Österreich, Fassung vom 21.04.2020, §8c Absatz 3a) and state law (Rechtsvorschrift für Salzburger Krankenanstaltengesetz 2000, Fassung vom 21.04.2020, §30 Absatz 1b), there is no obligation for retrospective data collection to be submitted to the Ethics Committee.Data was collected from patient medical records. Personal data was encrypted. Since this is a retrospective study, no patient consent could be obtained in advance. Permission to collect the data was given by the department.
